A Steering Committee Meeting of the ECAF Consortium took place in Lisbon on 17 July 2009. Main items on the agenda included approval of the Common Budget accounts for 2008-2009, contract negotiation for the new FP7 programme Integrating and Developing European Asian Studies (IDEAS), EFEO and Gulbenkian fellowships for ECAF visiting scholars, and ECAF communications. The meeting was hosted by Professor Joao Paulo Oliveira e Costa, director of the Centro de Historia de Alem-Mar.
