The Institute of Chinese Studies of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, was established in 1967 with the guiding mission to bring together China and the West and to integrate tradition with the contemporary world. To achieve this goal, the Institute promotes the research and study of wide-ranging fields in Chinese studies, and facilitates the dissemination of their results to a broad audience.
Professor SHUN Kwong-loi is Sin Wai Kin Professor of Chinese Culture, Chair Professor of Philosophy, and Head of New Asia College at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is also concurrently Director of the Institute of Chinese Studies. His research focuses on Confucian thought and ethics, and his publications include textual studies of early and later Confucian thought, philosophical work on moral psychology, as well as studies that bridge his philological and philosophical studies.
