Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan

Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, a University under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, situated at New Delhi with its Campuses at ten places in Jaipur, Jammu, Garli (Himachal Pradesh), Lucknow, Allahabad, Bhopal, Puri, Mumbai,Sringeri (Karnataka) and Guruvayur (Kerala) imparts Sanskrit education from Plus two level to Ph.D level in the traditional way of textual studies. It also acts as nodal agency for the Govt. of India in implementing various schemes, total 16 in number, meant for the development of Sanskrit education. It has around 300 faculty members in about 12 traditional disciplines such as Vyakarana, Nyaya, Sahitya etc. Medium of instruction is strictly Sanskrit including the modern subject like Pedagogy. It has tremendous potential for higher textual studies in almost all disciplines. it has around 300 Publications to its credit with emphasis on publishing unpublished manuscripts. Total books in the libraries are around 3,00,000 with Manuscripts numbering around 75 thousands. It has total land to the tune of 81.30 acres with Total built up area of 22,673 sq. mtrs. Hon'ble Minister of H.R.D. is the President by office.

Professor Radhavallabh Tripathi, with 38 years of continuous service as regular teacher in Universities at Udaipur and Sagar, one of the most senior professors  of Sanskrit in India. He is also the senior professor in Dr. H.S. Gour Univesity (Formerly University of Sagar).
Widely acclaimed for his original contributions to the study of Natyashastra and Sahityashastra, Prof. Tripathi has published 112 books, 189 research papers and critical essays as well as translations of more than 30 Sanskrit plays and some classics from Sanskrit into Hindi. He has received more than 20 national and international awards and honors for his literary contributions, including Sahitya Akademi Award for Sanskrit Poetry and Shankar Puraskar of K.K. Birla Trust for his Natyashastravishvakosha (in four volumes). Prof. Tripathi has been the Head of the Department of Sanskrit at Dr. H.S. Gour University from July 1980 to the present (except the period 2002 to 2005 when he was deputed as Visiting Professor at Silpakorn University, Bangkok by ICCR, new Delhi.) At present, Prof. Radhavallabh Tripathi is holding the position of the Vice Chancellor, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Deemed University (Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India), New Delhi from  August 14, 2008.
