The European League of Non-Western Studies (ELNW)operates as a promotional organization for non-western studies at the European and national levels. The partnership organises conferences, finances cooperation projects and aims at European subsidies. The ELNWS now counts 23 members.
Professor Rogier B.P.M. Busser is Director of International Relations, Faculty of Arts, at Leiden University. Besides managing the department of International Relations, Rogier Busser also has a research assignment. His research focuses on East Asian political economy, international economic relations in East Asia and industrial organization.
Ms Karin Aalderink, staff member International Relations, Faculty of Arts, Leiden University. She is coordinator of the European League for Non-Western Studies (ELNWS). Karin Aalderink is a trained sinologist and works as a staff member of the Faculty of Arts’ department of International Relations. Concrete tasks of this department are: the coordination of exchange students; the organisation of summer schools; the recruitment of students; maintaining contacts with foreign universities; drawing up European subsidy proposals and, of course, the management of the European League for Non-Western Studies (ELNWS).
